Stonehouse-based singing group donates £500 to Scottish Ambulance Service retirement association
A Stonehouse-based singing group has donated £500 to the Scottish Ambulance Service Retirement Association (SASRA), helping the charity continue its support for retired Scottish Ambulance Service staff.
The Jolly Bees, a singing entertainment group, volunteer at events free of charge and donate the money they receive to good causes. Alex Russell, Jolly Bees member and retired Control Room Manager for the Scottish Ambulance Service, presented the donation on behalf of the group at Motherwell Station, where members also performed a selection of songs from their repertoire.
Callum Kerr, Chair of SASRA, said: “SASRA offers support and assistance to retired Scottish Ambulance Service staff, including independent advice and guidance, community and welfare support, and opportunities to enhance retirement life for its members.
“It was absolutely fantastic to receive this donation with the added bonus of great songs, great sounds, and a great laugh. On behalf of SASRA, I’d like to say thank you so much to the Jolly Bees - Alex, Colin, Richard, Ray, Alan, Sean, and Ian - for their generosity.
“This donation will allow SASRA to continue supporting SAS colleagues in challenging situations and ensure they remain part of the Scottish Ambulance Service family.”
