1. How many addresses in Scotland are red-flagged by the Scottish Ambulance Service because past call-outs to those addresses involved violence, threats, or verbal abuse?

There are currently 3853 unique addresses where there has been an indication of violence, aggression, threat, assault, weapons, physical or verbal-abuse wording. 

 

Please note caution when interpreting this data 

The figures are derived from warning records created for operational purposes. They should not be interpreted as a definitive count of all addresses where violence, threats or verbal abuse have occurred. The presence or absence of a warning record may depend on the information available at the time the record was created and how that information was recorded.   

2. How does that number breakdown by postcode?

We have provided the information at postcode area level (for example, KA, G, EH, AB) rather than by full postcode or postcode district. This is because many postcode areas contain very small numbers of addresses and disclosure at a more granular level would increase the risk of individual addresses being identified. 

Providing the information at postcode area level allows the Scottish Ambulance Service to answer the request while reducing the risk that sensitive operational information relating to specific properties could be inferred from the data.
