The number of newly qualified paramedics positions being offered this year in Scotland by region

The Scottish Ambulance Service does not hold a definitive recorded figure for the number of newly qualified paramedics being offered positions in the current year. 

In line with our obligations under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, we are only able to provide information held at the time of the request. The information below reflects current workforce planning assumptions expressed as Whole Time Equivalent (WTE), rather than a confirmed number of individual posts 

 

This is based on current workforce planning assumptions and is expressed as Whole Time Equivalent (WTE): 

  • North: 50.9 WTE 
  • East: 50.0 WTE 
  • West: 73.0 WTE 
  • National Operations: 9.3 WTE 
  • Total: 183.2 WTE 

 

Important Information to Consider  

It should be noted that these figures reflect planned workforce demand rather than a confirmed number of positions offered. As these figures are expressed in WTE, the actual number of individuals appointed may vary depending on whether roles are filled on a full-time or part-time basis. 

 

Additionally, these figures are subject to change in line with operational and workforce requirements.
